Projects highlight AECOM's continued geographic expansion
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 9, 2009--
AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of
professional technical and management support services for government
and commercial clients around the world, announced today that it has
recently been awarded two passenger rail contracts in India with fees
totaling US$50 million.
The two contracts, which cover work on passenger railways serving the
cities of Chennai and Kolkata, will leverage AECOM’s design, as well as
project- and construction-management, services. AECOM will perform the
work on both projects as a part of joint ventures.
The US$3-billion Chennai Metro Rail project includes two rail lines
spanning approximately 28 miles, and includes 36 stations and a depot.
The value of this project to AECOM is expected to be US$30 million. The
US$1-billion Kolkata Metro Rail project encompasses work on the Kolkata
East-West line covering approximately 11 miles through the city center
and 12 stations. The value of this project to AECOM is expected to be
US$20 million. Both projects are scheduled for completion in 2015.
