Work includes design and project management for roads, storm water drainage and other infrastructure projects
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 18, 2009--
AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of
professional technical and management support services for government
and commercial clients around the world, announced today that it has
recently been awarded five contracts in the Middle East that will have
the company provide a mix of design and project-management services.
Three of the contracts are for work in the Al Ain Municipality of Abu
Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. They include two three-year contracts for
infrastructure work, including roads, drainage and sewerage systems, and
one three-year program undertaking storm water drainage work in an
isolated area of the municipality.
AECOM was also selected for two contracts in Qatar. This includes urban
design, as well as infrastructure and design development, of the central
parks and amenity zones for a new residential and commercial area in
Doha’s Barwa City. It also includes a transportation project in Barwa
Village, a new development between Doha City and Wakra Town.
“These infrastructure wins highlight AECOM’s diversified global business
model – from a geographic as well as an end-market standpoint,” said
John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “AECOM is
well positioned to participate in the continued emphasis on necessary
infrastructure investment that is occurring in the Middle East.”
