AECOM Merges with EDAW

LOS ANGELES( Dec. 5, 2005)AECOM, the global design and professional technical services company, has merged with San Francisco-based EDAW, Inc., an urban planning and design, landscape architecture, economics, and cultural and environmental services firm practicing worldwide. The merger combines EDAW's front-end planning expertise with AECOM's design and program and construction management capabilities. By combining expertise, AECOM and EDAW will extend their service lines and be able to address a broader spectrum of market needs on a worldwide basis. EDAW will operate as an AECOM company under the EDAW name.

AECOM has 22,000 employees and $2.5 billion in annual revenue, and the company serves clients in the transportation, environmental, and facilities markets worldwide. EDAW has 1,200 employees, $150 million in annual revenue, and serves a broad range of commercial and government clients.

“The merger with EDAW will advance our strategic objective of broadening and diversifying our technical services, particularly in front-end planning and consulting. Although EDAW conducts operations in the same areas as AECOM—the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, and China—there will be little overlap in our core clients or revenues,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM President and Chief Executive Officer.

EDAW Chief Executive Officer and President Joe Brown and Chair Barbara Faga will continue to manage the company. “This is an ideal marriage,” commented Brown. “EDAW's service offerings—particularly in urban regeneration—are a natural fit with AECOM's transportation, environmental, and facilities strengths.”
