LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2013--
AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), a leading provider of
professional technical and management support services for public and
private clients in more than 140 countries around the world, announced
today that it has been awarded a US$18.7-million U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID) contract to implement the Water
Security for Resilient Economic Growth and Stability program, known as
“Be Secure,” in the Philippines.
AECOM will partner with the government of the Philippines to promote
good governance and build capacity in water security with the aim to
achieve improved access to water services and more-resilient
communities. AECOM will work to support local stakeholders, improve
sustainable water supply, advance wastewater-treatment service delivery
and increase resilience to climate-related water stress and hydrological
extremes.
“We are excited to provide an innovative technical approach to help
respond to urgent water-security challenges in the Philippines,” said
AECOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio. “We
developed and tested this approach over the last 15 years implementing
USAID-funded water services, climate change and environment projects in
country.”
During the next four years, AECOM will implement the Be Secure project
in partnership with WaterLinks, a Philippine non-profit that develops
peer-to-peer partnerships between water services providers.
