LOS ANGELES (Jan. 3, 2007) — AECOM, a leading global provider of professional technical and support services for government and commercial clients around the world, has merged with Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, Inc. (HSMM), a Roanoke, Va.-based architectural and engineering firm with more than 650 architects, engineers, scientists and support personnel in 20-plus offices across the United States.
The combination of AECOM, whose 28,000 staff members serve clients in more than 60 countries, and HSMM, a nationally ranked and award-winning firm, leverages the strengths of both companies. HSMM has built a stellar reputation over the past 60 years in the markets that it serves, nicely complementing AECOM's combination of global expertise and breadth of services.
“This merger supports AECOM's strategy to grow and broaden our presence geographically while expanding our technical services,” said John Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “We are excited to leverage our two companies' extremely talented people and powerful, market-leading brands in a way that fits our business model so perfectly.”
Cecil Doyle, HSMM president and chief executive officer, will continue to lead HSMM and become a member of the AECOM core management group.
“We are delighted to become part of AECOM,” said Doyle. “This merger will dramatically expand our business growth opportunities – by market sector and region – while also offering significant career-development opportunities for our employees. AECOM is a global leader in our industry and we look forward to growing our practice as a member of the AECOM family of companies.”
