John M. Dionisio leads AECOM (NYSE: ACM), a $6-billion global provider of
professional technical and management support services. AECOM’s 47,000
employees – including architects, engineers, designers, planners, scientists
and management professionals – serve clients in more than 100 countries
around the world.
Prior to being appointed to his current role in 2005, he served as Executive
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and earlier as the Chief Executive
Officer and President of AECOM legacy operating company DMJM Harris.
Under Mr. Dionisio’s leadership as CEO, AECOM has tripled its revenue and
doubled its workforce, while considerably expanding its service offerings and
geographic reach. During 2007, Mr. Dionisio oversaw the company’s initial
public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), which was
one of the 10 largest NYSE listings for 2007, and one of the largest
engineering industry IPOs of all time.
During Mr. Dionisio’s 35-plus-year career at AECOM, his leadership has also
helped advance the company’s transportation and energy infrastructure
business in the Americas. Mr. Dionisio oversaw the combination of three
AECOM business units – Frederic R. Harris, DMJM Infrastructure, and
Holmes & Narver Infrastructure – to form DMJM Harris in 2000.
While heading DMJM Harris, Mr. Dionisio was involved in the advancement of
many notable projects. These include the Second Avenue Subway in New
York, Tren Urbano transit rail system in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the State
Highway 130 toll-way in Texas, Southern California’s Metrolink Commuter
Rail System, and the new World Trade Center PATH Terminal in Lower
Manhattan.
A Fortune 500 company, AECOM provides a blend of global reach, local
knowledge, innovation, and technical excellence in delivering solutions that
enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments. For
